LISTEN: MUSE's BLACKHOLES AND REVELATIONS.

I'm sorry.

I'm so sorry to all those shitty American bands who just can't get the full out shameless rock your socks off so you'll never see them again or want to wear socks ever again for that matter big arena sound that MUSE seems to so easily encapsulate in their new LP.

Phew.

Holy cow. You know when you have a band from "over the pond" that releases a HUGE crossover album, and every cut is good on it? You think it's probably gonna be pretty hard to EVER regain that greatness right?

Wrong.

So so wrong Britney. I love you, but no.

There's regular pop music, then there's this. SO much more than just a Radiohead "coverband", on this album, MUSE rides on melodies and riffs that would make the Swedish-est producers jealous. Although the music remains decidedly MUSEesque and somewhat formulaically melodramatic, there are more than a few musical tagents that mark an evolution in their sound. "City of Delusion" and the lead single, "Knights of Cydonia" are tinged with various elements of Latin music that add a somewhat unexpected yet effective texture in their BIG ROCK sound. "Supermassive Blackhole", a song about some twat is probabaly the most accessible of them all, but still exciting and fresh nonetheless. "Invinsible", "Starlight" capture the romantic and frenetic energy that the band in known for while "Soldier's Poem" and "Map of the Problematique" cop Beatles' / Rufus vocal arrangements and 80's synth pop respectively. And "HooDoo" ? Pure Buckley, some of it. THO GOOD! The rest of the tracks are pretty consistant with their previous effort (2004), not to say that that's a bad thing at all. Coz, it ain't. :) THO THUPER GOOD!!!!

Actually, U know what, I'll just shut the hell up, FUCKING GET IT. IT's HOT.

If you want to listen to a CD that will make you WANT TO SEE THE BAND LIVE IN CONCERT really really really bad, this is for you

DWAT
